My friend Peggy came for about 2 hours today and then had to leave for a dentist appointment. now any regular, hard working gal would keep plugging along, but not me. I have folded laundry, read and commented on blogs, surfed the net, joined a new message board of old NW members, and generally been very unproductive. This is why I had to hire someone to kick my butt help me paint.
I have to admit, the day off has been nice. It’s not like my weekends are relaxing. They are usually filled with activities or other chores. I haven’t had any time to myself to just be lazy.
Peggy will be back to crack the whip tomorrow.
In other news, Ethan now has 7 teeth, throws a mean tantrum (that cracks me up), drinks 4 cups of “pink” milk, chows down 2 bananas, 2 french toast sticks, 3 chicken nuggets, half a jar of diced peaches, half a jar of diced cooked carrots each day, plus whatever we are eating for dinner. This is in addition to whatever he manages to con his siblings into sharing, like chips and cookies. He is growing like a weed. His favorite movie is 101 dalmatians. We watch it over and over. He barks at his stuffed animals and if he sees a dog out the window, he barks at it and runs to the door so we can go outside to see it. Yesterday we went out in the rain to see the neighbors enormous chocolate lab, Ethan squealed as the dog licked half his face.
Ethan’s favorite place to sit and look at books, or play with his ball is daddy’s treadmill. It’s the perfect height for him to plop his little butt down and he feels confident in jumping off of it. He has become very independent suddenly. He wants to walk to the car or climb up and down the stairs. He doesn’t want to be carried anymore.
He is still nursing most mornings and every evening. He gets very demanding about it and he knows the routine. He walks over to the rocker and stands and pats the seat, waiting for me to sit, then he hands me the nursing pillow and lifts his arms to be picked up. He makes grunting noises waiting for me to undo the strap and then he settles in and throws one arm over his eyes and nurses. Rinse, repeat.
I am enjoying this time with him more than ever, because I know that it will end soon. I look at him some days and wonder where the time has gone. I am very mindful of the fact that I have really treasured every moment of every stage and that I have no regrets this time around. I really have gotten to do exactly everything I wanted to with him. I look forward to what each new day brings. He truly is an amazing little boy and I think he and many more like him will grow up and make this a better world.
See ya!

I might be painting forever! At least that’s how it feels some days. I am only painting during the week, so that the weekends can be for family time. I am enjoying the time, but some days it goes slowly since I need to give my attention to Ethan first and foremost. Among other things, Kyle started drivers training last week, so I have to stop what I am doing and drive him there 3 days a week, go home and then go get him 2 hours later. Between dr visits, paying bills, grocery shopping and a host of other regular “mom” chores, I am only helping paint half the time. I promise I will post pictures as well as the colors and color codes, so if you see something you like you can get it for yourself. All of the paint is Behr paint from Home Depot.
I have been quickly scanning blogs for news and updates, but haven’t had a lot of time to comment. Just know I will get back to that soon.
See ya!

Working very hard on getting the house painted. I decided to hire my friend Peggy to come help me. We were originally going to hire professional painters to come in and do the work, but it was a huge fee and I would rather give that money to my friend.
Last week we got the kitchen/dining area painted. This week we have already finished the living room. Peggy got started on the powder room and I hate the color, so I have to go get a new one tonight. We should be finished with downstairs tomorrow and we will begin to paint the stairway and loft, hoping to get that done by the weekend, but not sure if we can.
Next week we will start on the 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms upstairs. It feels good to get this project done. I have slight ADD tendencies and I have trouble completing things that I start, which is why I hired Peggy. It’s great to get to spend time with my friend, but she also helps keep me on track.
I will post pictures of everything when I am done.
See Ya!

I have some home projects to work on, I won’t be posting for a while. I will check in on blogs and leave comments when I can.
I feel like I have no words left to say right now.
I am saddened by my dear friends’ loss.
